What are the different types of cosmetic containers?

Updated:27-08-2021

Different types of cosmetic containers include tubes, bottles and jars. In addition, many different types of cosmetics are also packaged in pans and then stored in the cosmetic palette. These basic types of cosmetic containers have also changed. The choice of which type of container to use varies from manufacturer to manufacturer, and many skin care and cosmetic users often have their own preferences. Some cosmetic experts criticized the use of certain types of cosmetic containers, believing that they cannot protect the integrity of the products they contain.

Tubes are commonly used containers for many different cosmetics and skin care products. The tube can be a squeeze tube, which means it has a soft body that the user must squeeze to force the product off the tip, or a rigid tube with a hard side, and its contents must be through the use of an applicator wand or although using a twist base. Common types of cosmetics and skin care products packaged in squeeze tubes include lip gloss, moisturizers, and highlighters. Other cosmetics that may be packaged in rigid tubes include mascara, lipstick and eyeliner. In cosmetic containers, tubes have the obvious advantage of providing a lot of protection for the product, because their narrow openings result in minimal air exposure.

Cosmetics such as basics can also be stored in bottles. When the manufacturer wants to make the user pour the product for use, a bottle can be used. Bottles, such as tubes, do provide some protection against contamination, although the opening of the bottle is usually larger than that of the tube. If the bottle is knocked over, the risk of product spilling from the bottle will also be greater.

Many different types of powder cosmetics and thick creams can be sold in pans or jars. The pan is usually a shallow container made of metal into which the eyes, blush and lip gloss are pressed. When the entire surface of the cosmetic is exposed to the air, these pans must be contained in a palette with a lid or lid to prevent contamination. Jars are also used to store loose powders, skin creams and lip glosses. Although jar packaging can make it easy to obtain very thick products, their wide mouth makes the product susceptible to contamination and may compromise the effectiveness of some commonly used cosmetic ingredients (such as antioxidants).
